Projects and Partnerships

Sport For Empowerment organises projects which are not only meant to be fun but are also educational. We use the power of sport to teach the youth about health issues like HIV/ Aids or the dangers of Ebola.Sport is a powerful tool to strengthen social ties and networks, and to promote ideals on peace, fraternity, solidarity, non-violence, tolerance and justice.

We have also established partnerships with a few other organisations

Our current projects are the following;

SFE is currently sponsoring one university student. We expect to have 2 more in college/ university by the end of 2022.

Ebola Orphan Project (EOP) – We support a number of children who have become orphans due to the horrific Ebola Outbreak in 2014. SFE encourages these children to go to school and to become better people in life.

Friends in Sport (FiS) – Our partner organisation in Lumley has started its own school. We are involved in the daily activities of this school. SFE also organises training for the teachers and we sponsor a number of pupils.

Golden Soccer Academy (GSA) – Our partner organisation in Kono has started a football league for the U12 and U14 girls and boys. SFE helps GSA to get the league started. We also help to train the referees. The aim is to have female referees only.
